www.cyclingbargains.com racing team gets a new addition

www.cyclingbargains.com - Infinis Racing Team helped Team Manager Rod Freeman celebrated the birth of his son in style this weekend with the team represented in both the John & Dulcie Walker Memorial Road Race in Cheddington and the Elizabethan Road Race in Bridgnorth.

Carl Dyson from Silby, Dave Palmer from Northampton and Mike Cowland from Kettering were all in action at Bridgnorth in the 130km Elizabethan Road Race. All 3 riders featured in a number of breaks but were marked by other riders and nothing was able to get away. Drama struck for Dyson when his wheel broke but Palmer & Cowland made sure the race was controlled as he chased back on for over 7 miles. Unphased Dyson then went on to bring the team home with 12th place in the chaotic finish. Cowland for his efforts was 20th and Palmer 30th. Dyson said, "I felt mega strong all race and I was pleased with 12th considering." Cowland, recovering from a cold the week before said, "It was tough race but I was really pleased to finish. I feel I have recovered well now and am looking forward to next weekend." Palmer said, "Its been a bust week for me and I didn't felt tired before the race but I found something to
get me round - I felt powered on purely renewable energy!"

Top honours for the weekend go to Andy Swain with 2nd place in the 64 mileJohn & Dulcie Walker Memorial Road Race in Cheddington. The 12 points Swain achieved for the result take him within just 2 points of returning to his 2nd category licence and with 3 races still to go this looks likely according to Team Manager Rod Freeman. Swain was just beaten into 2nd place in the bunch sprint by Ben De Wet. Freeman said, "We hope to run an increased team next year with 6 riders at 2nd category level and 2 at 1st category level. I am sure Andy will be one of those 2nd cat riders. Carl, Dave and Mike have all retained 2nd category this year but I cannot at this stage comment on new signings other than to say we will be a force to be reckoned with!"
