www.cyclingbargains.com Racing Team completes the Ras de Cymru
Sunday saw the final of the Ras de Cymru 5 day stage race reached with all 4 riders from www.cyclingbargains.com racing team delighted to reach the finish line some 560m on top of the final mountain climb.
After the race had stayed together for most of the 56 mile stage it was Olympic hope Team GB rider Emma Pooley that showed the bunch a clean pair of wheels as she attacked into the clouds on the final 4 mile climb to win by over 30 seconds.
Highest placed rider on GC from www.cyclingbargains.com racing team Carl Dyson came home in 18th place some 2 mins and 27secs behind Pooley with Mike Cowland at 3min 08secs, Dave Palmer at 4 min 31 sec at Andy Swain at 6 min 04 sec. Dave Palmer commented afterwards, "The race was all together at the foot of the 4 mile climb and Team GB worked to get Emma to the front. The speed at which she attacked at was amazing and Mike and I were too far back to respond having worked to get Carl to the front for the climb."
The final stage turned the overall results inside out but team manager Rod Freeman said, "We are delighted with the team's performance this week. The lads have lived and worked as a team unit and we have learnt masses from the event. To achieve 5th place overall is a fantastic achievement and I am really proud of the team's work."
