Team scores a host of top results

East Midlands based cycle racing team www.cyclingbargains.com - Infinis - Metaltek RT were in action in a number of races this weekend.

Top honours went to Daniel Booth in the opening round of the British Mountain Bike Series, at Sherwood. After more than two hours of racing Booth secured 10th place behind National Cyclo Cross Champion Jody Crawforth. Historically Booth has always used the opening round of the British Mountain Bike Series to gauge his preparation for the East Midlands International Cicle Classic later in the month and was delighted with his 10th place.

In his first race for www.cyclingbargains.com - Infinis - Metaltek Racing Team Jason White upset Team BMC's domination of the top 5 places in the Maldon & District Road Race with 3rd place behind race winner Daniel Kogan.
Meanwhile at the Thames Velo Road Race near Oxford Will Fox finished 15th behind race winner Simon Gaywood in a sprint containing 8 Elite riders. Fox was third placed 2nd category rider and was using the event to prepare for next weekend's Premier Calendar stage race at Girvan in Scotland.
 
Michael Cowland, David Palmer and Matt Fostun rode the Gerry Hughes Road Race at Welland in Worcestershire. Cowland finished 8th behind race winner Richard Barnett after a hard few weeks training in preparation for the East Midlands Cicle Classic.
 
Matthew Jennings rode the Melton Olympic Hilly Time Trial on Sunday and secured 10th place.
 
Raphael Deinhart rounded off his German training camp by riding the Aichacher-Frühjahrsstraßenpreis over 15 laps of a testing 7km course at an average of 27mph. 140 riders started the event including ex Gerolsteiner professional Sven Krauss. The race was won by Eric Hoffman, who came 22nd in the Olympic Road Race last year. Deinhart was delighted with his 17th place in the event after being in an earlier break at 4 laps to go which was later joined by a small chasing group on the last lap.
 
The day before in his first race of the season Ben Jeeves from Syston was delighted to finish 6th in the final round of the Northants Cycle Race Association Road Race. Team mates Carl Dyson, David Palmer and Michael Cowland worked hard to retain Cowland's second place overall in the series but Roy Crombie finished in 4th place on the day nudging Cowland into 3rd place overall.
 
Team Manager, Rod Freeman said, "We chose this weekend to test the legs of a number of riders, in a range of events as preparation for some bigger races later this month. Jennings, Deinhart, Orr, Fox, Dyson and Fostun are all due to ride the Premier Calendar in Girvan next weekend and Booth, Cowland, Palmer will ride the local Jack Granger Road Race. Next weekend will be a big weekend for us as part of our final preparations for the East Midlands International Cicle Classic on 26th April."
