A crash denies Jason White a top ten finish at the Hillingdon Grand Prix

www.cyclingbargains.com - Infinis - Metaltek Racing Team showed their internet cycle parts and accessories sponsor www.cyclingbargains.com just how much of a sponsorship bargain the team is, with a string of top results this week. Jason White and Raphael Deinhart rode the opening round of the British Cycling Elite Circuit Race Series at Hillingdon on Sunday. The race was conducted in wind and rain but White was able to escape in an early 8 man break containing Olympic Gold Medallist Ed Clancy. Just as White's group were caught another attack of three riders including eventual race winner Jeroen Jansen went clear and managed to stay away to secure the podium positions. As the three attackers hung at 20 seconds lead Deinhart worked to set White up for the bunch sprint finish in the hope of securing a top ten position still, but in the closing 50m a crash in the main bunch involving White shattered their hopes. White said afterwards, "I felt really strong and was very disappointed to crash out so close to the finish. I have injured my leg so will have to see how things go for the Tour Series in Milton Keynes on Thursday."

Meanwhile at Ashwell, Carl Dyson and David Palmer had mixed fortunes in the Primavera Road Race. In the closing 2 miles Dyson attacked on his own in pursuit of lone race leader Ashley Cox, who had a 30 second gap on the bunch. Dyson, an ex National time trial champion easily closed the gap to catch Cox and then showed his power as a sprinter when he took the chequered flag and his first win of the season. Sadly Palmer punctured earlier in the race.

On Saturday Will Fox rode the BUCS National Championships at Waltham on the Wolds near Loughborough. The course climbed Harby Hill seven times in the wind and rain but Fox was delighted to finish 16th in a quality field.

Continuing the teams string of result junior rider Bradley Burbridge showed he had great skills off road as well as on it by winning the latest round of the Friday Night Mountain Bike League. The evening before Burbridge had swept to glory by winning a circuit race at Milton Keynes Bowl. The win of Thursday night secured Burbridge's promotion to a second category licence in true style.

Raphael Deinhart was 5th on Thursday night at Mallory park having spent most of the evening in a six man break. Team mate Ben Jeeves concluded an excellent week of results when he led the bunch home on Tuesday night for 9th place at Mallory park

White, Deinhart, Fox, Daniel Booth and Matt Fostun will take to the start line on Thursday night in the opening round of the Tour Series in Milton Keynes at 7pm. The race is televised on ITV4 on Friday evening at 7pm.
