The team joins forces with Active Edge Solutions at the Peterborough round of the Tour Series

East Midlands based Tour Series cycle racing team www.cyclingbargains.com - Infinis - Metaltek have teamed up with Cambridgeshire based Health and Fitness company Active Edge Solutions for the Peterborough stage of the Tour Series on 4th June.

The Tour Series opened on 21st May in Milton Keynes and runs until 23rd June by which time it will have visited ten major towns and cities, and received major TV coverage on ITV4 at 7pm each Wednesday and Friday evening.

The Tour Series pitches ten of the UK's top teams against each other for an hour of fast and furious racing, and includes top stars such as National Circuit Race Champion Dean Downing, ex Tour de France rider and Milk Race winner Malcolm Elliot, Commonwealth Games medal winner Tony Gibb plus Olympic medallists Rob Hayles and Ed Clancy.

The Milton Keynes stage was a great opportunity for one of the team’s local main sponsors, Infinis Limited, which is a renewable energy company based in Northampton, to support in numbers. Alan Lovell, Chief Executive of Infinis Limited, said “It was fantastic to see such an event up close, and for the team to do so well overall and by winning the first interim sprint. We are proud to support the racing team as cycling demonstrates renewable energy in action. I got the feeling these fellows could power the region on their own.”

The Peterborough stage on 4th June starts at 7pm in Bridge Street then continues into Church Street before sweeping down Bourges Boulevard past the Park Inn Hotel to complete the 1.1km circuit. A series of support events precede the main Tour Series event from 3pm. The www.cyclingbargains.com - Infinis - Metaltek Racing Team have adopted Peterborough as their local event and are looking forward to the support of the city. The team will be made up of Jason White from Essex, Raphael Deinhart from Stuttgart in Germany, ex Junior National Champion Carl Dyson from Leicester and last years National Clarion Champion Mike Cowland from Peterborough. Team Manager Rod Freeman is hoping Cowland will have recovered from his jet lag as he only flies in from training in America 48hrs before the Peterborough stage.

The team will have raced in Woking on the Tuesday night before coming to Peterborough and the speed of each race is likely to be close to 30mph. Active Edge Solutions will assist the team with pre and post race massage to make sure the team is in tip top condition. Health and Fitness Specialist Sue Burnett from Active Edge Solutions is a cyclist herself and knows just how to work with the team. Sue said, "We work closely with a lot of cyclists and runners in the area and are looking forward to assisting the www.cyclingbargains.com - Infinis - Metaltek Racing Team."
Team Manager, Rod Freeman said, "We chose Peterborough as our home race because over the years it has introduced many of the team to cycling with different road and time trial events. We are delighted to be working closely with www.activeedgesolutions.co.uk and are keen to develop relationships with more local businesses."

Mike Cowland said before he left for the States, "I am really excited about racing on the streets of Peterborough. It is a fantastic city to race around and the Tour Series have done a lot of work with local schools to encourage the kids towards cycling."
